Hello all!
Lucky me won a Noopsyche K7 V3 last month, and thought i’ll do a thread to provide an update on the lights!
Brief Background:-
Tank Start Date: May 2021
Tank Size: 40gal AIO Tank
Tank type: Softies / LPS
Dimensions: 75cm x 50cm x 45cm
Skimmer: Bubble Magus C3.5
Wavemaker: Jebao SLW-10
Main Pump: Sicce Syncra 1.5
Fluidised Reactors x2 (1 as a DIY chaeto refugium, other for rowaphos)
As for lights, I was originally using 1 Noopsyche K7 Pro II. I have since added the Noopsyche K7 V3, but set each light to 50% of the level that my sole Noopsyche K7 Pro II was previously running at.
I will list my light intensities later below.
First things first, the lights were well packaged and received without any damage. As I was having examinations when the lights were received, I had to fight all the urge to set up the lights until my exams were over. I had set up the lights last week, and I have to say, the lights look amazing. The new K7 V3 produces a much nicer colour than the already amazing K7 Pro II.
Apologies but you can’t see which light is what as i have DIYed some light shades as the tank is right beside my bed and it’s glaring when i’m lying down haha. but the K7 V3 is on the left (with the orange shade) and the K7 Pro II is on the right (with the black shade). The lights are placed at about 8” above water level.
I turned off the whites on the K7 Pro II, which is why it might look more blue on that side. The lights are on equal intensities for the blues. I do not use much of the UVs/reds/greens on both (if at all) or the cyans on the K7 V3. This will be seen in the intensity settings that I will post below.
Even with almost equal settings, in comparison, the K7 V3 is really producing a much more beautiful colour, and is much brighter. The first image is with the K7 V3 on only.
Comparing to only the K7 Pro II being on:
Please keep in mind what i mentioned above, that the whites on the K7 Pro II is completely off which is why it looks more blue.
Looking at the photos, you can see that the spread on the K7 V3 is much better than the K7 Pro II.
The corals have also been looking better and are opening up much more since I added the K7 V3 last week, apart from the green hammer that I have that has been receding since before I added the K7 V3.
My uranium rhodactic has been starting to bounce since i added the K7 V3! Fingers crossed that it will bounce!!
And yes, I have been very impressed and happy with the K7 V3 and will look to replace the K7 Pro II with another K7 V3. Hopefully by winning another giveaway! HAHA.
Will update this thread regularly in due course after spending more time with the K7 V3. And yes I will post up my intensity settings shortly! And thanks to @noopsyche for always organising the giveaways which gave me the opportunity to win 1 and upgrade my tank!
Merry Christmas everyone!
