I have a new hammer that I got a couple of weeks ago. Is it normal for that light colored stripe to be around the base of each head? Seems really happy and healthy, with nothing unusual, other than those stripes. Although I don’t know that they are actually unusual
I took the picture before it was fully extended for the morning, so they would show up better.

it didn’t seem to have that band on it when I first got it. It just became noticeable yesterday. What’s flesh band recession? What should I do about it?

What are the parameters? It may be losing its skin and starting to bleach.

I was wondering if maybe I had it in too much flow. It certainly wasn't being blown around with crazy flow, but it was higher in the tank. It was also up pretty high in the tank, although I tested the par at about 130 - 140. But I moved it to a spot close to the substrate with less light and more protected from any strong flow. Here's my parameters. I'm slowly getting the PH increased each day. Not sure why it's low, but I don't know that I have the most reliable tester either.
Thanks!

You know I'm in Canada right? If I open a window, the polar bears will get in and eat all my fish
But I will give that a try as soon as it gets above freezing up here again

Haha, it has been nice and warm (about 60 degrees Fahrenheit), but this week it’s a little chilly (about 38 Fahrenheit). But that’s still warm enough for me to crank a window or two. It’s shorts and t shirts as soon as it gets above zero up here :)
