I have a sump I got from marine depot. I use the one end for a fugue. But I want to add more water volume to my system.

Should I use the biocube and tie it to the system some how??

If you raise the Biocube you could do a no drill pvc drain into the sump.. because of limited sump space I’m making a refugium out of a old AIO using this method..

I raised a little aqua cube and drilled it for 3/4 PVC. Only thing I’d change on mine as out a union ball valve on it.

one or the other has to be higher for a no drill pvc HOB to function.. I would raise the Biocube so the bottom of it is level with top of your sump.. there is a little more involved in these type overflows so you may want to do some research on them, you need a aqua lifter pump as a safety to make sure syphon is not lost or you need a float switch in the tank to shut off pump if syphon fails so it doesn’t overfill

You have two choices either hang on overflow or drill the tank.. if you do a hang on pvc style you would need to raise the Biocube higher than your sump, really no other way to do this.

Pump would be in your sump pumping water to Biocube then water overflows from Biocube back into sump.

I see how it works now. seems like alot of work just to add 14 gallons - Displacement of sand,rock,alge. Might just be better off pluming in a 50 gallon cube and stand I have. What you think? By the way thanks for th help

Plumbing would be the same which ever way you go but if you go with the 50 your going to have to consider if your sump will be big enough to handle back flow from both tanks in a power outage situation.
