Hello everyone, hope everyone’s day is going great :)
I’ve recently been thinking on upgrading my max nano as I’ve found a beautifully sized Custom Tank.
Tank size: 2.5’x18”x18” (40 Gallons/180 Litres).

Personally I have been looking into Centropyge multicolor - The Multicolor Angelfish as it has been my dream dwarf Angel for a while. But I’m intrigued on what YOU would pick!

I searched hard for a peaceful reef safe angel and found none for a 50g tank.

I've seen coral beauty or a flame angel in small tanks but I'm not sure if the fish is happy with its space.

just for coloration, some dottyback are beautiful (though not like those angels!)
Man I love dottybacks and many of the basslets (and relatives) but they can get just a bit too aggressive for me.

my maroon clown keeps my orchid dotty inline ;) but they get along well and feed together
Yeah, I own several gobies that often hate highly Aggressive tanks so unfortunately a maroon is a no go for me.

i got the maroon lightning clown - just 1 ... he's pretty chill, doesn't really bother anyone at all. have the orchid dotty, a ruby red dragonet and a yellow watchman goby... everyone gets along, clown just has his little area in corner top of tank (why not on my lps, why, why!) and nobody bothers him there anyway

I have 5 or so gobies, a blue star leopard wrasse and a naoko fairy wrasse in my nano (Which I hope to upgrade).

Seems like a great choice. Besides that I'd take the opportunity to add a bunch of small fish like blennies, firefish, etc.

Cherubfish aka Pygmy Angel. Much cheaper and the color is brighter IMHO. If the tank were a foot longer, the Japanese Angel aka Interruptus Angel would be top of my list if money were no object.

The cherub is nice but I honestly don’t think any dwarf Angel can beat the colours of a mature Multicolor.
Will definitely still be on the list of decisions though :)

Multicolors are absolutely amazing, had one in a similar sized tank a few years ago and it's been one of the best looking fish i've ever kept
