Alright I am back, starting small this time. I got out of the hobby in 2019, I sold all my tanks and held on to all my totes of misc pumps and stuff I had accumulated over the years of reef keeping. I then moved in 2021 and decided to give away all my totes and sold off all my rock I was hoarding and ended up not keeping anything reef keeping related and just figured I was completely out. Fast forward to March 2025 and I got back on Reef2Reef just to look around and see how a few of my friends tanks are doing and I got the itch. I looked on Facebook for a tank and there were some smaller tanks available but the logistics for pickup became annoying. I ordered a new Nuvo 20 starter since I already had a piece of furniture I could use as the stand. I reached out my local reef club I use to be a member of and they were very generous since I need to reacquire everything from scratch. I didn't have anything, imagine not even having a old maxi jet or any type of pump just to make saltwater. I was able to get a rodi unit and pretty much got some dry rock from a member for nothing. I got everything setup and am still waiting for some components. I am excited to get this tank going.

Nice scape!

I really like stand, IM stands are ugly but IM makes a very nice tank. The 20 is my favorite.

What are you going to use for light?

I pretty got out of reefing in 2019 as well. Jumped back in Nov 2024. It's amazing how things changed so much in such a short time.

Yes, I was most surprised with the cost of Salt, I use to get Fritz blue box for like $35 dollars when I had a tank now it's like $70. I am going to go with a Noopsyche NP K7 Pro V3 III, it should be here in the next few days, I am going to run it low, I kinda bought it to future proof in case I want to get a bigger tank in the future I can just grab another one and should be covered

I am also starting to see some ammonia after day 4, I dropped a little piece of shrimp in there today to bump it up a little. I am also using Seachem stability.
light should be her on Wednesday or Thursday then I should be good for a bit while this thing cycles
