last night was my wife’s birthday so her mom, grandmother and aunt came to celebrate. As we were wrapping up with cake I heard a sharp cracking noise followed by a nightmarish rushing of water.
If I’m looking at the tank it was right around the curve on the front left side. I can’t tell if it started at the top or bottom as the crack runs the entire length.
The only silver lining is that we were home so I was able to save all livestock and corals and about 15-20 gallons of water. About 15 gallons sprayed all over the room but since we were there we were able to clean it up before it had time to soak in.
I currently have everything in a rubber maid and went out and got a Biocube 32 led this AM (that’s the best I could find since I didn’t want to spring for a RedSea. I’m wondering if I should write Innovative Marine or if it is a waste of breathe. The tank must be 5-6 years old and I don’t have any purchase documentation, only the serial number on the side of the tank.
I couldn’t believe this happened after I had the tank all set up and rolling how I wanted it. This is absolutely worse case scenario.
My immediate conundrum is getting everything into the new tank. I think I was able to salvage about 30lbs of LS but may just go bare bottom. I’m also trying to get enough water mixed so I can supplement with the water I salvaged, where all of my livestock is currently situated.
