Howdy,

No matter what I do, the skimmer bubbles through the top of the cup and generates a putrid stink.

I don't know if I'm tuning it correct or not

Is it a new skimmer?
Anyhow, that looks normal to me. Seems like you have a heavy load.
Looking at the adjustment knob, you have it quite restricted. Try to move the Knob toward "Open" and see if you could get the foam to go down a bit (but then you might be skimming "dry").

The problem is all the photos I see the entire kneck is full of bubbles, mine has only 3/4 inches of bubbles so I'm forced to have the water level high

I got a nyos, the waterlevel is 23 cm in my sump. To adjust the skimmer do following,:

Screw the little screw shut all the way and then only open so it's just open(it's the one where the hose goes in)
Then turn the long pipe with the big screw adjuster(the whole pipe not the screw) until you get little bubbles up to the neck where the cup connects, above it you should have bigger bubbles. There is a hole in the bottom of that pipe and the more it lines up with the hole in the body the lower is your skimmer skimming up. Turn it and leave it for half a minute to see what it's doing.
Once you get it close you can then play with the big adjuster on the top to fine tune it and experiment with the little one too. I think the waterlevel plays a role too so check that. Mine only overfoams when the cup is nearly full coz I didn't empty it.

Again, how long has the skimmer been running?
From what I can see, your tank is "dirty" (from looking at the large bubbles on top.
From my understanding, the micro bubbles should around the bottom of the "Q" (see picture of my 220). The top of the Micro bubbles should be in the clear area of the collection cup. The micro bubbles will become larger as they collect "stuffs" and eventually large enough to go onto the collection cup.
If I was you, I would try to get more of the larger bubbles out by skimming wet (make extra salt to replenish as needed)

Skimmer has been in the tank for several months, yes the bioload has increased but it's set at the recommended water height on a little platform of 8

The water height appears OK.
Have you add anything to the tank recently?
My 220 would overflow when I add freshly glued frags (with Epoxy and Putty)
Here is the trick I use when it constantly overflowing:
-Connect a drain hose to the skimmer cup and run that to a 5gal bucket
-Make fresh salt water to replenish as needed (try to keep the water height consistent)
-Slowly turn the adjustment knob so that the large bubbles would spill onto the collection cup (and down to the 5gal bucket). I would turn the large tub 1st to get coarse adjustment (then use the knob for fine tunning).
-The skimmer should settle down and stop overflowing. For me, usually after no more than 2-3 gal of skimmate.
Good luck.

I was dosing some nopox but have not in a bit.

The skimmer used to run great but then I added more fish, so I think it's just tuning again
