I am a Automotive trouble shooter for one of the big 3. When the dealer cant fix a new vehicle they call me!!! I assist with diagnosing the vehicle so it can be repaired... If I can fix it on the phones I will visit the dealer or send out an engineer...

Reefin girl - Have you checked out .net 2.0? It has some new groovy features. I come from a Coldfusion/Asp background (non-vb or c#), so getting my brain around .Net has been a different experience, just a different way of thinking about things. If Microsoft has its way, programming will eventually be all declaritive...hardly any coding left for a monkey. :( Its a great job though. :)

I'm a GIS Spatial Analyst working as a contractor to the Gov't...looks like ficklefins and I have something in common. I work on hazards-related projects (storm surge modeling), conservation work, and work to build internet mapping sites. I was a marine science major in college though :)

I am currently 3 years into a 5 year apprenticeship to become a union Steamfitter. I basically work on steam and hot water heating systems, chemical and petrochemical plants, and complete environmental systems in hospitals, schools, and high rise office buildings. This includes joining pipe mechanically and metallurgically by welding, soldering, or brazing.

Reefwifey... I haven't touched .NET for about two years... my current employer encourages us all to use open-source and free stuff... don't see the point in paying for all the Microsoft licenses...

.NET was ok when I was using it..but I could never stand all the extra crap that ASP.NET stuck in a page...and it really annoyed me when some of the guys that pretty much used the wizards kept insisting that something couldn't be done....cuz they didn't actually know how to code it without a wizard...then I'd take their code for a few hours..and jack stuff in...and they'd be dazed and confused...it was amusing ...then of course they'd open it back up and do something w/ a wizard...and break it somehow.... and I'd have to go back and fix it... heh...

I think they may have switched to 2.0 right when I was leaving the company... I'd check it out if it was free...but I don't want to pay for it ... heh ;)

I have been working for Meijers for 16 years since sophomore in high school stocking shelves. For those that don't know what it is they are one of the biggest grocers in the 5-6 state area around Michigan. They are kinda like WalMart in the sense of a one stop shop and were the original company that started the Grocer and general merchandise stores. They pay much better then WalMart but still not the dream job, but it pays the bills. I have thought about changing occupations but can't afford a pay-cut. I also get 4 paid vacations a year and 6 paid personal days another reason I haven't left yet. The hours aren't to bad as it fits my life style but the politics suck as with any job....

Been working for T-Mobile for about a year now and have been manager of the store for about 6 months. Pay is good but having to deal with people and their cellphone problems is starting to drive me crazy :(

How is it that you hold all the cool jewelry AND cool zoas and palys??? Have you figured out how to put a paly ina ring yet??? <giggle>

On a serious note, if I have some unset finished stones, are you the sort of guy that could set them for me??? I would be so all about that...!
