Occupations...

I was just wondering what everyone's occupation was?

I'm a software engineer/website developer.

Some days I like it...some days I don't... I'm sort of looking around at new jobs as of late...as I'm a bit unhappy where I'm at....specially since I got taken for around $8k when my boss decided not to fully honor a verbal agreement...sigh. The only reason I've stayed this long...was due to the holidays...and because I get to work from home 4 days a week...

Anyhow..was wondering what everyone else does?

I do water damage remediation. If your basement floods, we come out and dry it up. It pays well with minimal work, and there are many different types of cash bonuses we get which is always nice. The only bad part is this time of year when it rains so much and I get to work 12+ hour days. We're also on call 24/7 so that can be a bummer until you get paid for it.

I am a financial analyst/manager for a government subcontractor. I left a great database administrator job in Connecticut to move to Colorado, and it turns out that I really miss my IT job more than I thought that I would.

I'll trade places with you czieler!! :-)

I am a dogwalker and petsitter. I LOVE my job. I take care of dogs and cats all day and I don't have anyone micromanaging me. It rocks and I make pretty good money. The only things I don't like, no vacation or sick leave, no medical, and I have to pay my own taxes.

I am a Pre-Engineering teacher at a High School. I also teach Advanced Cabinetmaking.
I am currently planning to leave teaching at the end of this year, and opening my own furniture business-- specializing in custom Aquarium cabinets and canopies--of course!

i am a yacht broker in west palm beach, mostly small boats. hours stink, but pay is awesome.

I was a grad student last year in neuroscience...then got burned out on it due to lack of funding.

At the moment I work as a TNT organic chemist at an amunitions military base for the govt. The work is very hazardous, and the pay is "ok" I guess for someone in their mid 20's. Not something I'd be comfortable doing as a career, but it works for now.

Trying to get into medical school at the moment...got past the secondaries and now I'm just waiting on the call for an interview.

I own a plumbing company.I have some good people working for me now so I can come and go as I want.Gives me more time to do invoices and quotes since I don't have to be around alot.Most important is goof off time.LOL.
Lots of headaches but pay is good.

yeah i know, the loan for my first choice school is $50k/year (tuition $34k/year...and the rest for living expenses) :(

seems like nothing to the $25k I already owe. doh!

top choice is DO, other is MD.....could only afford to apply to 2 in-state schools. the cost is insane, no clue how some people apply to a dozen schools all over the country, esspecially after you factor in transportation and lodging costs for an interview.
