Hello im pretty new to saltwater hobby. I have 2 ocellaris clowns from about month. Their bodies are cover with this black spots(they are not fuzzy), so i dont think this is black ich. I read about hyper-melanization. But I don't know if that is it. My clown sleep in the zoanthids, which you will se in the photos.
Please help!
THANK YOU!

Welcome to the forum!
Looks like hypermelanization to me. What other kinds of corals are in the tank? I wouldn’t expect zoas to pack a powerful enough punch to cause that but I could be wrong.
None of the spots are raised or fuzzy or anything off right? Clowns acting normal?

There are 2 montiporas, 1 neon caulastrea and pulsing xenia, but i dont even seen clowns touching them. Yeah none of them are fuuzy or raised they are just spots, but im worried beacuse they are too much. Clowns look pretty happy eat normal.

Probably from the zoas then - I never would have thought they would cause the black spots (then again clowns don’t live in zoas too often). Nothing to worry about!

This is a clear sign of getting stung by
Anemone
Euphyllia
Similar coral with tentacle

it will subside. Provide good water quality and diet and look for daily improvement

Yep, looks to be hypermelanization from stings of the zoas. They are baby clowns, so they should be used to it soon enough.
