Started to close up and shed/turn white. It was close but not touching an Australian leather. Any ideas? Alk 9 calc 460, ph 8 78°.

Hard to tell from the angle, but that skeleton looks like a wall variety which are notoriously hard to keep alive and despise flow even more than the branching variety. Can you confirm wall or branching and what flow you are giving it. Low is best - much lower than the torch beside it would like. Also nitrate/phosphate levels wouldn't hurt.

Should I trim this part that is “peeling” or just let it be. The other stem is healthy.
