O would never use Mexico City acid rain to fill my tank, but if you live in New Zeland, probably just check salinity in the event it was dilluted.

I wouldn't, but I suppose it may depend on how long it was out there (ie - how much rainwater it captured). Of course, I don't leave a 5 gallon bucket of water out in the sun to warm up, I put a heater in it so it is the exact same temperature as my DT when I use it, but that is just me.

No, I have seen where a person used rainwater to fill a freshwater aquarium and never could get the funky algae out of the system. To me it is not worth the risk.

I wouldn’t do it because you never know. I wouldn’t even add pure ocean water to my tank. You just never know what got in.

Do you live in a small town or in the middle a rural area where the air is clean? Or do you you live in a city where they have daily air quality/pollution warnings? I wouldn't use it here in Phoenix, but when I lived in a small town in Minnesota, I might have.

I live in the hills of West Virginia so it’s pretty clean
