yes it needs to be reef safe for the most part unless it only will pick on like 1 type of coral And it cant be something that will eat snails. And I want something that is unique.

Not super oddball but rock flower nets with sexy shrimp would fit in your nano…

+1 for the sexy shrimp, mine lives on an elegance and its awesome! The pompom crab is really cool, there are few rarer cleaner shrimp as well!

Pederson cleaner shrimp
Anton bruuni cleaner shrimp
Golden coral banded shrimp
Any of the porcelain crabs
Any of the acropora crab species if you're going to try some sps, really cool relation ship to observe.

There are many options out there!

What are some easy to care for, oddball inverts for a 16 gallon biocube.

Any of the anemone shrimp are pretty awesome, we have two white spot anemone shrimp at work, i'm assuming both males as they fight when they find eachother but it's short lived and they return to their respective nems. They will pick at the nem occasionally but not enough to actually harm it, and the nem can't eat them. I have them with bubble tips

As above, and a 15 is abou the only size you will see a pom pom crab on a repeat basis, and they are affordable and cool

Not quite sure if these are considered oddball but Saron (monkey) Shrimps. Really shy but overall reef safe and easy to care for. Get a couple so that they’ll be out more. They will mostly hang out in the rockwork like Fire Shrimp but are a little less shy.

Abalone are fantastic. They will outgrow a 16 but you could keep one for several years.

When I saw the title, my first thoughts were chiton, limpet, stomatella, cowrie,,, but where to easily find for small purchase is another matter

Coral banded shrimp (food thief)
astrea snails

Most you dont want to add until tank is steady readings for ammonia and nitrate and some type of food source for them

Brittle stars, the mini guys! there is soo many different types and colors and I love feeding all the arms when they colonize a rock. I second stomatella snails, also Astrea stars are pretty neat while not uncommon or special lol. They will feed on coralline algae but its not impossible to keep their numbers handled.

There is also nudibranchs like the lettuce nudibranch, but they require a well established tank and can be fed macro algaes like chaeto
