Got this coral about 6months ago now. Lfs owner said he thinks it's some kind of acan bowerbanki but I've searched all over and found nothing like it.

It's definitely not a scoly or any type of brain coral I've ever seen.

It's a single head about the size of a quarter, has a tiny skeleton under but it's completely covered by flesh and is almost perfectly round with a mouth on top and short feeder tentacles.

Unfortunately my phone doesn't pick up it's coloration very well but it's mostly purple with a bright turquoise ring around the center and neon orange feeder tentacles.

If anyone has a good idea what it is or could be, I'm definitely interested in knowing thoughts.

Looks acan bowerbanki to me. That was my first guess prior to reading the info.

I guess I'd just never seen a single head bowerbanki before after more Google image searching, I finally found a few that definitely look similar. Thanks for the help

+1 on the id from others. That's how they look once a single head is fragged and healed. I think you can see even a second mouth forming on the front edge of your picture. slightly to the left of center.
