Once upon a time
There was a lad Gil,
Who- to his chagrin-
Nearly got his friends killed.

After a long shift at work
On a hot September day,
Gil saw his fish had a spot:
Ich had joined the fray.

For a moment he panicked-
Woe was he!
He knew it was his fault,
Now the whole world can see

It was pride, you see,
That most ignoble of sins
Which quite nearly had done
All his fish in.

“I’d quickly spot it,
In an observational QT,
I watch my fish closely,
Just wait, you’ll see!”

Or so he had told himself,
some months ago,
As he huddled before glass
While a month passed so slow.

Before he had known it,
It crept into his tank,
Harassing his pets-
On sight, Gil’s heart sank.

But he’d read once before,
On this very thread,
A post by Humblefish
To keep his fish from the dead.

The Tank Transfer Method!
That’s what I’ll do!
Gil thought to himself,
To shake off the blue.

So then he embarked
On what will be a long road-
His lesson well learned,
And an apology owed

To my fish I am sorry,
I hope you all know,
Though you’re still fighting now
I’ll not let you go

It was my mistake
that brought you all here
Now I’ll fight for you-
Rest well, do not fear.

To Humblefish, and all the people who have contributed to this disease thread over the years, deeply I thank you. I hope my fish are able to pull through this disaster and bounce back. I’ve certainly seen much worse cases on this thread so I’m glad to have caught it soon enough to act. To anyone out there not treating in QT- learn from my mistake. Don’t risk it. Tearing apart an 18 month old 90g, watching the fish I’ve grown to love nearly die from acclimation stress, and watching an empty, lifeless tank for 3 months wasn’t worth it.
