Hello Everyone,

Wanted to say hello, First post and share my new office nano reef tank build. I've done FOWLR in past years but this is my first attempt at keeping corals and other live things (other then fish) Its 2.5 months old now. have lots of copepods that have been showing up in the last month.

15 gal Fluval Flex
Smatfarm Aquamars 60W LED light
Hygger mini wave maker
Fzone ATO
100W heater
IOAOI Nano protein Skimmer (may not be needed)
12 to 13 LBS live rock
Live sand ( cant remember name but it was highly recommended by my LFS)
just basic filtration as of now. sponges, AC, and some Bio media

2 Clown fish
1 candy cane Pistol Shrimp (the yellow watchman goby was chased out of the tank by the female clown)
CUC 4 snails 6 blue leg hermit crabs

GSP
Blue eyed blond zoas

running RO/DI water and salt water from my LFS

I plan to add another Yellow Watchman at some point and that will be the last fish.

Want to try some leathers and mushrooms.

That's all for now.

Welcome to R2R. :)

Fantastic start, it looks great.

Welcome to Reef2Reef bro!! Great to have you here! Tank looks great so far

just a quick update.

Added a red mushroom today. Not sure what its called (LFS told me but I promptly forgot) nothing fancy. some of the shrimp fell on it when feeding, not sure if it will eat it or not. It was folded on that side already.

Nice looking mushroom! My wife and I love our mushroom!

Yep I've used the same tank it will do the job fine . I never had problems but I did use a little bit of love rock. Enjoy your journey all is looking good.
Sorry I see you used live rock you will be fine good job

I like the SmatFarm, and everything seems to be functioning well. The lighting is good and performed its job effectively. The color, especially the blues—possibly due to the spectrum—looks much better with the Red Sea setup. That's just my untrained observation

I plan on keeping the smatfarm for a home tank build that I will get to eventually :)

5 month update. my photo skills just don't do it justice. I had always been scared to a certain degree to have corals, now I don't know why i was. :)

I agree with you on the blue spectrum of the Smatfarm lights. I have their G6 140w and while I'm super happy with it, when comparing to other lights in person, the blue pop is lackluster. I use more white on my mixed SPS reef so it works perfectly for me.

Nice tank so far! I started reefkeeping 2.5 years ago with a Fluval Flex 9. I still use it as my frag tank now!

another 4 month update. Tank will be a year old Nov 1st.
