We bought a home today and are set to close April 20th. On the plus side, it's only a couple miles from the current house but moving the tank is going to be a pain regardless. I dont think we'll have everything ready for the 150g (done how I want it anyways) in time to simply make a transfer. Planning on using a Rubbermaid tub for the transfer tank here at the current house while we move the 75g. Bad timing with the little frags doing so well, hopefully there aren't any casualties.

On the plus side, I gained a 1700sq' basement that I can finish in any manner I please so I expect to have a very nice fish room. The office is roughly the same size as the current place so my 75g can stay in there and the 150g can move into the living room (gained a little more square footage there). I can support the floor in that area perfectly and get the sump up a few feet for easy maintenance along with some QTs and the mixing station. Easy access to all of the plumbing at my finger tips!

The place actually had a perfect spot for a peninsula or island tank but I'm a couple months too late on that now. Needs a little paint but otherwise nice.

Black box? I've only had two of those and they went to a local guy. Are you talking about the ReefBreeders? I had a Photon 24 that I sold over there.

Awesome, congratulations. I've been gathering stuff for the 150g for a couple months now.

My wife found a small container of Reef Roids in an empty (mostly) box of of packing peanuts; I never ordered the stuff so it was either a free gift or made it into the box by mistake (not sure where it came from or how long it has been here LOL). I've never added suppliments to the tank but since it was on hand I decided to toss some in there; I used 3/4 tsp as directed for the my water volume and have dosed it twice. Some of the acros showed a response but most chugged along like normal. I've only used it twice so it's far to early to say whether or not anything has changed with the addition and with the move only a couple weeks away now, I'll likely never know unless I order more and continue using it (though I have a lot left).

In other news, everything is still doing really well. Some of the frags that were moved have started to take off just in time to be uprooted yet again (poor things).

How's the tank going? I know you guys just bought a house, so what's the next plan? Will you move this one over as is (I think that's what you posted above), or will you start a new one (or maybe the answer here is "both")?

What an insane second day of home ownership! Water main under our driveway broke! I was out front weed eating an overgrown yard when all of the sudden there was a river of water poring down my driveway. The river quickly turned to insanity! A 12" diameter main that runs through our front yard broke at the service connection to one of the homes across the street. It ended up pushing the entire street up about three inches over a 200' length. Was insane!

The driveway, sidewalk, and part of the walk to our home was dug up as well but the county stepped up right away and is replacing everything.

Out with the old...

And in with the new.

A small amount made its way into the basement but Servepro is taking care of that.

Anyways, the plan is to move this tank to the new place. I have a 65g that I'll fill in the "old" house tomorrow to transfer everything to. Saturday I'm planning on setting up the 75g in the new place and will probably transfer everything on Sunday. Provided the craziness ends!

Moved everything over to the transfer tank (sitting in the entry way of the house) last night and so far, I dont see any casualties. They're certainly not amused but most everything probably digs the new landscape LOL. Tomorrow I'll begin re-plumbing the 75g (currently in a 65g) in preparation for another migration.

Sorry about the image quality, I have no idea where my camera is but I reckon it's down there somewheres...

Wish I could have dropped them straight into the 150g but I still have a ways to go (gotta check on the stand/canopy progress now that I think about it).

Got the 75g re-plumbed and have begun refilling; water pressure here is dismal (38-40psi) so it's going to take eons... On the plus side, input is averaging 2 TDS so I cant complain too much.

I've wanted to extend the hard plumbing on the return line for a long time so I guess the move was good in that sense.

Cleaned up the wiring gaggle behind the tank while I was at; I used cup hooks to hang all the wires from. Might actually be able to find and replace something without getting caught on every wire now...

Got the 75g refilled and tested alkalinity to match both tanks; looks like the move had little affect on the corals, alkalinity in the transfer tank was down to 5.7 dKh. I brought the display tank down to 6.6 (fresh IO was 10.7) and will bring the transfer tank up to match (dont want to add any more muriatic acid to the display because it will take another 12 hours or so to bring the pH back out of the gutter).

Layout is largely the same as the last one; I may move some things around but this is probably how it will remain until the 150g is up and running.
