Official Prayer Thread!! (Prayer Request)

I’ll be very honest here, I was raised in a very religious home, but have always struggled with my beliefs, but I feel the urge to write this here. This last year and a half has been extremely hard on my wife and I am literally drowning. We moved across the US for us to both go to college. Within the first month we had a fire in our apartment and had to move. Then on my way home from work I was in a car wreck which totaled my car. I then purchased a new vehicle and things started looking better. My motorcycle was then stolen and we had to use the money we saved up for our down payment on a house to buy another vehicle. Then Jan of last year I was rushed to the ER with chest pain. We found out I needed a heart surgery to fix the issue, but was told I could take medicine until I finished college at the end of the year and then have the surgery. Everything started doing really well a few months ago; I was 2 weeks away from graduating with my B.S. and was hit by a car on my motorcycle, by a lady with no medical coverage on her insurance. From the wreck I got a broken pelvis and collarbone, dislocated shoulder, permanent nerve damage, and will have to have surgery on my hip and possibly shoulder due to ligament tears. Due to a medical issue I was born with (my blood doesn’t coagulate) I had to fly to Houston to see a specialist for treatment and stay there for about 3 months. I am still out of work and am on the verge of bankruptcy due to medical bills. I am finally about to graduate in a week, which will be amazing, and will hopefully be able to return to work soon. At this point I really don’t know what to do, other than just try to put a smile on.

Praying for all of you!

Adupree sounds like you have had your share of heartache! So sorry to hear of your problems. :( BUT I will be praying for you and what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger! God will take all that is bad and turn it around for your good! That is my prayer.

I love this thread and so happy that R2R allows me to be open about the most important thing in my life, my faith in The Lord. Thank you.

Praying for him right now. What time is the surgery?

Adupree, I will pray for you and your wife and keep you in my prayers. Sometimes bad things happen to us for good reasons (like having your bike stolen which could have kept you from your injuries) but we take matters in to our own hands instead of praying and seeking guidance.

Word of God says "Be still and Know that I AM GOD"

Sometimes when everything is going our way, we tend to feel indestructible and like we have the power to do it on our own and like we don't need God. Sometimes it takes us hitting rock bottom for us to remember that we have a GOD. A GOD that Loves us so much that HE sent HIS only Son to die for us so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Maybe the only thing that HE wants and you need is to put your trust in HIM. The great news is that God has the power to take any bad thing and turn it around for good and HIS Glory.

God bless you and your family

If we will think back over our lives, we realize that we learn and gain strength and wisdom and become a bigger, stronger person from dealing with the bad things that happen to us, not the good things.

I remember when I was a young man, hearing an older man who had had a massive heart attach say; "God laid me on my back in order to get me to look up".
