Official Prayer Thread!! (Prayer Request)

I have a prayer request, we moved to Naples a while ago, and the Methodist church we’ve been going to isn’t receiving our 4 year old well. She’s basically the only child there, so she doesn’t want to go to Sunday school. The congregation is older people, mainly snowbirds, and the pastor just called us to let us know she has received many complaints about how disruptive she is, they can hear her even in the nursery I guess. The pastor told us they can’t grow the church if people threaten to leave, which they’ve said they would do. We are in a bind, we want our children to be in church even from a young age. We’ve been trying to get our daughter to set through church, but she’s just so full of energy. We’re asking for prayers and advice to know what to do.

Over the years we have been involved with foster care and adoption so I fully understand the challenge of navigating active children in church! Is it possible for one of you to go to Sunday School with her for a few weeks or even a few months (sermons may be available online for listening to later)? Additionally, I'm not sure how tied you are to that specific church, but I'm sure Naples has family friendly congregations. I pray for wisdom for you as parents and a gracious spirit for the team at the church.

This is an wonderful site to see now a days .
last year around this time I got sick . The Drs said I had pneumonia, so he treated me with medication started to feel alittle better then when I went back for my follow up he came in the room and I am sending you to go see a specialist. Your lungs are getting worse . So I am like well crap that sucked so I called and the first appointment was 3 weeks out so I continue to get worse . By the time I made it to the specialist the sickness had spread to both of my lungs . So more medication more test and nothing was worked . In April the diagnosed me witha lung disease. . In the meam time my symptoms kept getting worse. They had treated me with steroids very very strong antibiotics. Still nothing , so next step was a broncoscopy. Had to stay off all meds for a month so it wouldn’t mess up the results . Got the broncoscopy done and results came back normal . They couldn’t figure it out . My lungs where covered with this disease but everything came back pretty much normal . So next step was a lung biopsy. Well they gave me antibiotics when the did the broncoscopy so I had to wait another month to do the biopsy. So no it’s July , my lungs are less the 50% functioning my O2 what stay above 60 so at 43 yrs Inhad to have 3 liters of oxygen 24/7 and use a walker to get around . So big day go in for my lungs biopsy will in recovery theDr came in and told my wife and myself that he saw the disease all over my lungs and there was nothing they could do . He said I may have 3yrs left . We where devastated. Had to wait 4 days for my vitals to get good enough to go home . So there we where waiting and praying something showed up so maybe they could treat this . They still had no idea what caused this .After the second week after surgery We noticed my o2 was staying up and my breather was getting alittle better . Well week 3 went in for a follow up and to get the results . So go in to Emory to see the Dr went in for an X-ray . Go to the aft office and we sit down and he say . I don’t know how but some one higher then me had a different plan for you sir . Your xrays are perfectly clear . I wasin shock . Here is the before and after X-ray . We have an amazing God .

We really have no ties to that specific church, our membership could transfer to any Methodist church should we stay in the denomination. We’ve bounced the idea around, we’ve attended several different churches and never had complaints about her. Our experience is that most of Naples isnt family friendly, especially during season...we’ve got many looks a restaurants and stores. The older people don’t seem to take well to kids. As for Sunday school, I really don’t know, we probably could set in. But they don’t have it unless there are atleast two children, it’s almost always just her. We’ve talked and decided to take a small break from that church while we pray about Looking for another church.

Children are God's favor. In their innocence, God gives them the keys to heaven.

My mother wanted to teach Sunday school to special needs children at our Southern Baptist Church we attended back when I was a kid. The pastor refused to allow this to happen. This upset my mom greatly. We left that church.

I'd try what @Peace River said, but be prepared to find a House of God that takes heed in what was written in Mathew 18:10 !

Prayers sent. Saying a simple prayer for strength and support once in awhile never hurts anything. It's the first step in creating a relationship with God. Baby steps. Your never alone.

My wife Kelly needs some prayers they rushed her into emergency surgery she has internal bleeding and blood pressure dropping .
