OG bounce mushroom resurrection

3 weeks ago I got an OG bounce mushroom shipped from a friend, unfortunately during shipping, the mushroom and frag disc came undone in the sterile cup and landed on top of itself, bouncing around for majority of the trip. When I got the shroom acclimated, all of its bubbles were destroyed and the outer layer of its skin was starting to peel and melt away. It turned into a pile of guts and goo and I was told by many to just ditch it. I was going to toss it one day until I picked it up and noticed the foot was still firmly attached. I decided to let the shroom stay where it was for the last few weeks......

I started noticing a green neon color that I haven’t seen the shroom have since I got it. It immediately turned black within a couple days, then slowly started turning neon green. Then I saw that a skirt was slowly forming all around the mushroom where the foot was, it was trying very hard to pull itself together. This was how it looked last week....

Fast forward to today, the og bounce has reformed its outer layer and started developing its skirt and vesicles again, I think I can see small dots of orange appearing. I plucked it from the back of the tank, stuck it on a disc and in front where all my other shrooms are with more light and tad bit more flow now. I will be updating this thread as it progresses..... my OG bounce I saved from a black pile of guts and goo..... to be continued

I've pretty much almost killed all my shrooms now including my OG.
Place on low light low flow area until it starts acting normal than slowly move it back out to lamp.

Subscribed. Highly suspect it is an OG only because ive never seen one so damaged.

Very cool. I'm doing the same with my mom minecraft was pretty much melted and done! But I dipped in cipro.

Definitely waiting for outcome here!

I would say never give up on a coral. I had a rainbow chalice come in and almost die before I grew it out into something amazing in a span of a couple months. It’s not a softy but I’ll share it here too, why not. I am hoping I can bring back this mushroom like I did this chalice. It started out as an one eye blue/green wwc jellybean chalice... almost died and bounced back into this.... never give up on your corals

Yours is way beyond stress levels adequate to make it susceptible to infection. If you can dip it in Cipro to give it fighting chance.

She’s developing at an exponential rate, I am very surprised in my tanks natural healing powers. Seems like she is starting to develop small orange vesicles all over....

Haven’t updated in a while and it took a turn for the worst, my fault of course....

lately I’ve noticed the bounce starting to get white or bleached. I was confused as to how it could happen but then it hit me, last week I put a og bounce I had that was bleached 6” away from the recovering bounce.My guess is the bacterial infection spread from the bleached bounce to my recovering bounce. Now she’s starting to bleach all over. Looking into a chemiclean dip as that helped before....
