Thought I'd post up a couple pictures of my RODI filters. Some folks thought maybe I had mud for water running into my house. I'm on city water that originates from Lake Michigan. It's very soft water and very clean. My current incoming TDS is 85 the highest I've ever see it is 120.

These filters were put in new back in September of 2016.

As you can see they are very clean looking but have produced about 500 gallons of water.

My guess is the red-orange stuff is coralline algae that has dissolved and discolored between the vinegar acting as a solvent and the fresh water. and the goo-looking stuff is a bacterial bloom of heterotrophic bacteria fueled by the vinegar.
