I would think if everything looks ok, just do a standard water change. I would start making water. Also the bright well product looks like a good idea. I however do not know what to much iodine will do to your fish or corals. People use it as a coral dip.

Do you have an iodine test kit?

FWIW - I’ve seen people with icp tests (me included) with iodine that is way off scale and no obvious damage.

I have a red sea test kit for iodine, i just changed carbon yeaturday so i got new rox8 carbon running. Rodi running now and water drain ongoing now. Going to do a 60g / 40%+/- water change... i too dont know what it will do to the tank. Thats why im freaking out.the tank has to be soaking in it for several hours. Iall was good when i went to bed. About 10 chked tank this morning about 8 am and found the bottle knocked over. Sooo i cant find anything on an iodine o.d. im freaked out. Surprising enough everything looks good / great

I thought you can use brightwell conditioner to counteract an iodine overdose. It says so on the bottle.

No.

It may neutralize I2 if you dosed that (not something I recommend and not the form that I think is in red sea) by converting it into other Iodine forms. It cannot eliminate any other form, and if I2 has been in the tank for 24 h, there is unlikely to be any of that form left (IMO).

Heres the head scratcher.in an effort to learn the hobby im not a fan of the word luck or lucky. Its kinda like a co out. Its my engineer brain that i fight with. Lol. That being said.
All is good. Im really shocked by this. According to the internet
All should be dead.. im thankful its not but it does make one question the info out there. Im going to do a you tube video next week about this if all is still good. I dosed 250-300 mls of iodine to my tank with no clear side affects in a 180tg. Im left thankful. But more confused now then ever. The truth is out there Skully. Lol

Don’t take random chemical advice from the internet. There are lots of folks repeating nonsense that they heard from some guy while standing in line at fish store.

in terms of iodine, there is a massive difference between overdosing iodide (which is fairly benign) and overdosing Lugols, which is reactive and toxic.

Well here's and update. The tank is not dead. EVERYTHING is fine. i only lost on frag. WOW makes you wonder why people say od of iodine is bad, when i have just witnessed a tank surviving after being od by 300 mls of the stuff
