? on low, med high light

I have been trying to learn more about lighting. I did some research and my 12 gal JBJ with LEDs par light is 340 at 2", 165 at 6" and 60 at 10". So now I would like to know when they say low light what is considered low? Med? High?

Hmmm, this tells you more watts per gallon, I'm kinda looking for like low light is maybe 0-50 par, med 50-100, like that.

I found various answers on various forums, I averaged my results below. Again, these are ballpark, not exact, everyone seems to have a slightly different opinion which is no surprise! From the info I found, regarding coral growth; there are many other more important factors to consider besides par. Also, it seems that placing a par value on a particular class of coral like saying... SPS like 350 par, is wrong. Some SPS like more, some like a little less. There's a difference between what par value a coral will grow under, and what par value a coral will tolerate. Considering what most are suggesting, your par readings seem to be in range.

Example: some folks have had success growing a particular type of SPS around 300 par, whereas someone else had success with the same type of SPS at 500 par. (This is where acclimation is key)

Very Low: 0 - 50
Low: 50 - 100
Medium: 100 - 250
High: 250-500
Very High: 500 +
