Very cool. Going to be a great tank for sure. Was wondering if you had a cutout in the wall behind the tank so you could put more filtration and equipment in a fish room or closet behind.

No room behind the tank. Everything will go under and to the sides. It would be really nice to have a equipment room. Hopefully the next house we plan to move in the next year or so.

Unfortunately no new progress. Tanks on hold at the moment. We decided to sell our house. So not gonna set it up until mid summer.

Ok well there was a tad change to the system. My filtration was larger than expected and couldn't get it all to fit. So I built a new stand. It's not done yet but this is the state of the tank until I move moving may be as early as next month.

A little update. The place where I had planned to put the tank in the new house won't work it sticks out to far with the new stand. I still have the old stand and will put the tank on that and this tank will go in the bedroom with different filtration. I have orderd a reefer 525xl to go in the main living area and all the filtration will go on that tank. I will continue this thread for this tank that I think will become some kind of species tank. Ideas are welcome. I will start a new thread on the reefer when we get moved and settled. So out of all this I get two tanks hahahahaha

What were u thinking? What do u like? What interesting? Lol wow things to think about. I kinda want a FOWLR but no space. I love the aggresive side of tgings too. Just something to consider. Reef in living room aggresive in bedroom or vise versa all depends on where u spend the most time i guess.

I'm honestly thinking of doing a clown harem tank. I've never done a species only tank and think it would be a fun little project.

I have and I just watch there update video on it. It's a sweet tank. I'm fairly sure that's the direction I'm going to go with this tank. Then do the full reef in the reefer 525xl

Unfortunately things changed and I sold off the tank and equipment. It was to a member on this board so hopefully it will resurface at some point. i have some new stuff brewing and will be back with a even more awesome build.

I guess it’s time to revive this thread. I ended up moving and didn’t like how the tank looked in the location I had available for a tank. I originally was just going to sell the tank and keep everything else. I ended up selling the tank and all the custom filtration. Then after much deliberation and many quotes from my lfs. I ended up ordering a rimless 120 I almost went with a Red Sea but I think this fit what I wanted better. Next I got ahold of Steve at bashsea again and have another custom sump being built. My tank should arrive in about a week and my filtration should be in shortly after. I still have all the apex equipment so I will be using that.
This tank will be a lps tank. If you would like to chime in for ideas on lighting. That would be awesome I have a wxm module for my apex so I am considering Radion but the geisemann fixtures are sexy and I’m swinging that way as well. I will update with photos as soon as stuff starts arriving.
