They've gotten a little less common but a marine betta(Calloplesiops altivelis) would be a very cool addition. They're a little cryptic at first but definitely have a unique personality and color pattern.

My lfs has one, but it's an invert eater too

Shrimp or fish that fit in their mouth would be the most vulnerable. I haven't had any issues with them eating snails or hermits in the past.
