Got the stand together last night...

Having so many leveling feet is a blessing and a curse!!!

Sump is in place, next steps will be to get the tank on the stand and plumb it up. Hopefully a job for tomorrow or Friday!

If anyone has any tips for mounting equipment in a stand like this or mounting a Refugium light please let me know!

Tank is up, plumbed up, and base rocks in!

I am going to add sand and some water hopefully tonight but my RODI is so slow I don’t know how long it will take to make the next 70 gallons....

I will take some better pictures this evening when there isn’t so much glare.

Following. Looks great already!

Out of interest, the chiller section on the left, does it have to be there, or could you have put it on the right instead?

Thank you I appreciate it...tank is about half filled my rodi is putting in some work

So I’ve seen other waterbox setups with it on the right, but mine I didn’t see a way to build the stand with it on the right. Possibly if I flipped the base board around, but I think it only fit one direction. This is a newer model of the stand and they did mention they changed some of the boards and layout and not sure if that was one thing they changed.

I would have liked it on the right but in my setup in the office it’s more convenient having it on the left.

Fair enough. I might have to look into it more closely. Trying to decide whether to pick up a steal of a deal on a used RSR 525XL or go new with a Waterbox 130.4

Got the tank filled still have some top rocks to add but mp40s are up and anti synced moving sand nicely.

Took me a while to get the m1 dialed in and calibrated and still really loud due to suckin in air on feed mode so will have to look into that....

Other than that just waiting for the sand to settle oh and for this skimmer to stop overflowing [emoji15]

Lights are up and the rest of the rocks are in, I can’t wait for the sand to settle.

Anyone know of a diy light shade for a aquatic life t5 fixture? I sit directly across from my tank for work and it is blinding

Could probably take some 1x1 or 1x2 pieces and frame it out then wrap it in cheap 1/4in plywood and paint it to match your stand put a vent hole in the top for air flow. You could even rig it to hang just like you have now.

Added some cheap under the cabinet lighting and 2 little clown fish to help the cycle along.

Also, I really need to figure out this skimmer, I know my tank and skimmer are new but this thing is constantly overflowing with foam. 3 days on and it hasn’t slowed it down. I finally turned it off to let my tank settle.

If anyone has done something similar i would love some tips...i need to figure out my cord management and electronics on the dry side. Was thinking of making a false back wall to route my eco tech drivers through and keep the majority of power supplies and cords behind it. Still want to leave room for dosing pump and bottles in front.

Update for the weekend.

I took my first stab at plumbing to convert the ato into a Refugium. I was a little messy with the primer but I think I was able to get it all sealed. Going to do a leak test in a few minutes.

I also started on my control board hope to have that painted and up by end of weekend!

Got it painted just waiting on the desk grommet to come in so I can mount it.

Didn’t want to spend 20+ dollars on power supply brackets for the back so I made my own with picture frame hangers and Velcro.

Just a couple of updates as my tank nears the end of it’s cycle...

Got the control board in, and the skimmer and Refugium started!

Added some hardy frags from my old tank so far have:
-my Miami hurricane chalice
-Superman cyphastrea
-ORA birds of paradise
-purple stylo
-Ironman acan

All frags came from large colonies in my old tank and added over a week ago. Seeing some growth and white tips already!

Moved my maroon clowns from my old tank along with my exquisite fairy wrasse after ammonia dropped for 1 week consistently. They are all happy and healthy and eating great!

Unless you're super in love with those maroon clowns, I'd recommend pulling now before it's too late. Meanest fish you'll ever come across, and will make it difficult to add anything new ever again. Tank looks awesome! I'm seriously thinking of this or the 170 from my 90g that's too full.
