Oops chipped my glass!

I am replacing the trim (brace cracked) on my 180 gallon Perfecto aquarium and while removing the old top trim I chipped the corner of the glass. It's not bad and is at the top, which will be covered with silicone and a new brace when it's fixed. Anyone see anything wrong with moving forward with he new trim and using the aquarium?

I'm not a glass expert but anytime I see a chip in a piece of glass I wonder what kind of micro cracks will follow.

I used a Dremel glass grinder this morning to smooth it out. Looks a lot better, but would still like second opinion? Again, this will be silicone and under the new plastic trim.

I'm a go for it guy. It's under the trim and the water will never be that high. I'd just glop some silicone and fill'er up.

Fill it and send it. Ive seen bigger chips on bulkhead holes that get filled with silicon

This chip looks weird, is the glass tempered?

If not then check for hairlines inside the glass around the chip. If it’s clear of hair lines or stress cracks then I vote filler up.

I did the phone and polarized glasses test and I didn't see any tempered stress lines, so I am assuming NOT tempered. I shined a light into the glass and didn't see any stress marks, seems isolated to top surface. Here's some better pics...

It's amazing how poorly cut the glass is even in areas where the trim came off easily. Rough edges and small clamshell chips on both side panels.

Looks scratched to heck. So long as non of those scratches are cracks, I think your good. Run your finger nail over them to see if they are scratches or cracks
