Open and closed brains?

Got these two today. I think ones an open and ones a closed brain. Although those are just guesses since the guy at the lfs didn't know squat! I'd like an Id for my records if possible.

Your correct with those ID's. The first one looks like a Favites, which would be considered a closed brain. While the second one might be a Trachyphyllia. This would be considered an open brain.

Cloak is right about calls. Brain coral is applied to a handful of corals that look nothing alike.

Just curious I'm trying to gauge prices. Was 50 bucks for the pair good, bad, or about right?
