Hey all, I'm currently planning a nano reef and plan on having a pistol shrimp and goby pair and was wondering what kind of live substrate you would recommend? I'm thinking fiji pink but with so many options and mixed reviews on almost all of them, I was wondering what you guys use and recommend. (Preferably white sand that won't blow around/make a sandstorm when my shrimp burrows) Thanks everyone :D

Fiji Pink is fine, I've had many goby/shrimp pairs living in it; they burrow and move it easily, and no sandstorms. A lot of people seem to like Special Grade, which has slightly larger particles than Fiji Pink, on average. Black sands leach heavy metals and although I have a tank with Indo-Pacific Black I probably won't use black sand again.

I'm one that likes the caribsea seaflor special for reason mentioned, but maybe the slightly smaller fiji grain might be better for burrowing for the pistol.
Rinse well to help avoid dust storms.
