I bought a used 90 gallon set up that came with a gen1 maxspect gyre. Its a good pump I like it but i don't like the fact that it just blasts everything in 1 direction. I'm considering replacing it for 2 pumps that can sync up up and alternate. Ecotechs are out. I just don't have that kind of money to spend for 2 pumps. The 2 choices im considering are 2 nero 5s or 2 jaebo slw-20. Ive never owned a jaebo but people seem to really like them as a budget option. Does anyone have experience running either 2 nero 5s or 2 jaebo slw series. Would love to hear pros and cons and some real world feed back. Thanks!

I also have a 90g tank (36x30x20) and I run 2 Coral Box Reverse Nano Pump wavemakers. I put one on either side of my center overflow on the back glass. Reef Breeders sells them and offers a 2 year warranty!

Photo is from before the wavemakers were in. I was trying to get by with just flow from the return. It was OK for the start, but later I wanted more flow.

Sure have. Lots of control and lots of flow potential. Mine first one was in my old tank and is about 2 years old, the 2nd one is new.

I run a Maxspect gyre XF330 and two MP10s. I love the spreadthe gyre gives... it seems to work well for mixed system. I do have a xf350 on the opposite side for an alternating current unfortunately it’s a little strong for my 100g.

MP10s setup: Used to move water at the lower/back behind the rocks, other is used to move water around the SPS rock.

Gyre settings: Variable speed 10-60%
Mp10: Lagoon mode 40-50%

Some pics... I’ll try and get a video posted if that helps. Let me know if you have any questions

I run two icecap gyre 3k's. One on each end of the tank. I have one that will run at 10% while the other maxes at 50% after about 3-4 hours they switch. I love them and easy to clean. and they aren't expensive

I am upgrading to a 90(36x24x24) and going with 2x330 gyre's vertical in the corners & 2x6055 Tunze to sweep the back and keep the detritus suspended and 2xmp40's on the back to provide additional flow this is a barebottom SPS tank and all will be turned down

So I ended up going with 2 icecap gyres. Initially I want even thinking about it. But then I got to looking and realized that because of how high some of my rock work goes there would be no way to put in typical power head without it blasting coral to death. With the gyre I can set it up nice and high and get a sheet of water over the tops. Ill probably start out with random mode and have them counter sync. Thanks for the replies guys

My bad, I was looking at the wrong box on my shelf. The wavemakers are RPM and it's a private label version that Reef Breeders sells.

I run 2 Tunze 6095's on the back wall of my 120.
2 jeabo ow-25's on each side.
Replaced the jeabo's with 2 Tunze 6105's.

I ran the jeabo's for 9 months. They are good adjustable pumps for the money.
They are cleaned and put away as backup.
Here they are when I took them out. They move alot of water for a small pump.
