Lighting advice needed. I matched the lux rating of my favorite LFS some time back but the corals are just ok. Recently I moved way more to the 10k spectrum and turned down the 5 k levels with the hopes that algae would not like it. Corals seem to love the light. Not sure it made any difference in algae. I do not have a big algae problem to solve, just fine tuning. I am sure a par reading would be the way to go buy I do no have a way to read it so here I am.

LPS have a pretty wide range of acceptable lighting from sunling, 1000 PAR under metal halide to very low output. You are likely OK.

If you can grow coral, you can grow algae too. Most of the talk about certain type of spectrum of lights growing algae better are complete internet myths. DO what is right for your corals and you will be fine.
