I'm curious to see how they will grow, too!

One under a 6500k halide/led tank and one only under LEDs. Curious to see how the results will compare over time.

Awesome experiment—subscribed!

Second clam is ordered so might get it Friday. I’ll get a par reading on both spots as well so I know they are pretty close.

FIY BRS and SWA have these clams on sale currently for anyone interested.

I purchased a pair of calipers will be able to get more accurate measurements as well.

Clams are also in the same system so water parameters will be the same except for lighting.

PAR might be “close” but spectrum will not be
That’s the goal. Find out which spectrum they prefer and how it effects growth rates.

Sorry change of plans. I won’t be able to match par on the led tank like I wanted to. I did get the second clam so I’ve got them sitting side by side and will get measurements with calipers soon.

it was going into my mixed reef tank if you want to call it but I was not able to clear out enough from the one side to crank up the meridians high enough without causing stress to the zoas, mushrooms, and chalices in it.

picture under LEDs only tonight so not as pretty as a full spectrum picture. Second clam (top) came in slightly smaller at 14 grams.
