I recently received a fish order from ORA. Before it arrived, I tried to find out what salinity/specific gravity their fish are shipped at so I could prep my quarantine tank properly. Couldn't find anything definitive online, so I called them directly. They told me their fish ship between 1.022 and 1.024 SG.
Mine arrived right at 1.023—spot on.
Just sharing this as an FYI for anyone else wondering about ORA shipping parameters!
In my case, I set my QT to 1.023 to match. After a simple temperature acclimation (float and temp match), I put the fish straight in—no drip needed. Super easy. Then I slowly raised the QT salinity over a few days to match my display tank at 1.025.
I trust ORA aquacultured fish to be clean, so my "quarantine" was really just a short observation period: a few days to let them recover from shipping stress, make sure they were eating well, and confirm they looked healthy before moving them to the DT.
