No. it's not false info. For SPS, you really need a par meter to map out your tank's light and flow for optimal positions of SPS when you acclimate them. Note, the corals we buy from stores and hobbyists are aquacultured for the most part (excluding maricultured corals) that are fixed in par on the grow out tanks. So the idea of par in the ocean depth is irrelevant.

For the experts, any tips on getting the orange tips? Mine is plain blue/purple right now but getting amazing growth.
I think I figured it out. Having all blues messes up the color of my Orange Crush. I maxed out the white LED in the morning and now I do see orange shades in the purple tips. I guess this is one of those corals that are best viewed in halides and full spectrum T5s instead of LEDs (unless set to full spectrum).
