Looking to restock some of our fish since we had a few bullies mill some off. 6 ft 125.

A copperband is the wife and Is favorite. Our powder blue tang and bellus angel both tried to kill it, with the bellus finally taking it out.

Would an orange shoulder tang be a better fit for this tank with a copperband, or still too aggressive and small of a tank?

I realize it's hard to say with certain fish, but just checking. Thanks!

It’s likely it’ll be too small of a tank, I would personally go for a Ctenochaetus tang personally. These guys seem to do best with CBBs out of all the tangs.

I love orange shoulder tangs, but yeah, they get big fast. Temperament wise they are good though IME.

I have a 4" orange shoulder, never picks on anyone, and a 7" blue eyed kole tang that bullied my one and only try at keeping a CBB to the point of starvation and death :( it is going to be hard to get a CBB in any tank where a tang has already established itself

I will definitely be adding the CBB first. Just wondering about another tang or skipping it all together.

if CBB goes in first and you put a smaller orange shoulder tang, you would be fine but keep in mind they will get 1' or bigger, the kole tang will stay smaller and id imagine if CBB is bigger and there first, it would be the best chance of success

I just loooooooooooved having a CBB so much and it broke my heart 17 diff places waking up to it gone.

A different idea - I have an atlantic sailfin tang that is very similar in markings to the CBB and is much easier to take care of, but again the size thing :(

Also have a foxface, so skipping the tang all together may be my best bet and go with smaller wrasses. I think we're done with angels as well since we want to for sure keep another CBB

now reading original post, you have same tank as I do - go for an orange shoulder and sailfin i think

We wanted the CBB bc we love those fish and had great success with our first before we got the bellus, but it also completely knocked our aiptasia out

My tomini tang in my 125 has been completely peaceful, if not shy, unless you're a lawnmower blenny.

I also always recommend, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, one of the rabbits we call foxfaces.

I'll think it over before doing anything, but CBB will be added back next week at least. Just didn't wanna overcrowd and start more aggression

Get a Copperband and some dwarf angels and later maybe try a tomini.

My Copperband is with a flame angel and yellow tang but yellows generally don’t like copperbands.

Wife swore off the angels after the "peaceful" bellus destroyed ours lol

What about adding the CBB and possibly an orange shoulder at the same time? If the orange shoulder acts up or gets too big I can rehome it later. Just thinking before placing an order next week.

haha well I would say Tangs are worse then dwarf angels. My flame is much smaller then my copperband tho and no hopes of catching up in size.

My bellus was mean too.

Definitely, that's why I was curious about the orange shoulder haha. These fish and their not being what the usual temperament says drives me crazy lol.

I was thinking about a medium sized CBB and maybe a smaller orange shoulder at the same time may would work. Not sure though
