Orange Torch Care

Picked up a nice big head of Orange Torch from Doctor Mac at a local frag swap Saturday and I am looking for advice. I have had to other frags which did not live long term and I am looking for those that have had success with these long term to give me some advice on flow, lighting levels, etc..

I have LED lighting and good flow in the tank. Give me some ideas about placement and care please. ;)

IME low light and moderate to high flow. The higher the flow the longer and stringyer the tips. Feeding is very important if you want them to grow!! I feed mine mysis ans sometimes lps pellets

I have mine at the bottom, with flow from my Tunze 6095's (wide flow pattern) going over the top of it. I run five 39w T5's pushed by IceCap 660's (enough to make my SPS happy).

I don't ever feed my torch because I had one die on me a few years ago. Not sure if it that was what killed it but I'm not chancing it again.

I keep mine in low to medium flow. Medium lighting so it doesn't bleach out. The most important thing I found with torches is my alk need to stay stable and 9ppm to 10ppm and cal needs to stay stable and no lower then 420ppm. 3 weeks ago my cal drop to 380ppm and I lost a head of my gold/ orange torch. I cut off the head that died and did a vitamin C dip. My cal back up to 420ppm and everything doing great.

I have an aussie golden torch from vivid, just like those pictured, I keep it in moderate flow, under moderate light. It sits at the bottom of my 60g solana under two AI Vega Color units which are turned way down. It is happy as a clam, growing, and eats whenever I feed it.

My parameters are CA 380, ALK 8.6, and Mg usually about 1250-1300. It has not been a difficult coral to keep in my experience, I even had a nutrient issue a little while back and it was just fine through it. In fact I believe I have two heads at this point.

I have a golden torch in a twenty gallon long tank and it s mounted on top of base rock about 4" from a small powerhead and my lighting is led cree 60 wat total. they have been in my tank for about 4 mounths.

I have 2 of these orange/gold torch corals. One is in the middle of my 20" deep tank directly under my Radion that is at 65%.
The other is about the same height in the tank, but it is shaded by a monti cap. Both have moderate flow. Tentacles moving all the time.
But the one that is shaded seems to be a little bigger. They were once the same size.

I got it of a Dutch reef forum the guy lives about 15 miles away from where I live in Holland .. saw another one in another shop they were having a closing sale .. it wasn't in the sale ...they were asking 200 euros for it .. I payed 75 euros for mine !!!
