Ok I currently have a OR3 blue plus how much does the Or3 weigh? I do have that hanging off my Red Sea brackets with no issues.
Also the new OR4s using the app. Can you also program different channels to be brighter or lower than others ?

The OR3 and 4 are very close to being the same weight. You did not state the length of your light so I cannot give you an exact figure. OR4 lights have only one channel so programming, intensity, etc are controlled. For a complete list of features, go to www.orphek.com and click on producs.

Anyone have updates, thoughts, insights on this?
Actually the OR4 blue plus should appear brighter to our eyes because the intensity in the upper range of the spectrum will appear brighter. Our eyes do not see intensity changes too well in the area between 400 and 450nm. With this being said, the only true way to measure intensity in this low area of the spectrum is with a quality PAR meter.

I have both the OR3 UV/Ultra Violet (36” and 48”) and the equivalent OR4 lights on a 8ft tank. Per my naked eyes, the OR3 is much brighter! Anything I can do?

Honestly I’m not very happy with my setup either. I should have saved some $$ and use Radions as primary lights and Orphek as accent lighting?

Good luck with yours.

DThe bars can be used as supplemental lighting but many use them for whole tank lighting. The OR4's use the same LEDs as our flagship models. For faster service, you can contact me at [email protected].

I just ordered the OR4 iCon Blue Plus 36" bars I will try one and see how I like them, I do have a spectrometer so I am going to look at the spectra before and after adding the light. My primary light is a Radion XR30 g6 pro over my 47 gallon AIO tank.
