I just did a water change, so unplugged, and the osmolator 3 will now only have the white flashing lights stay on and no longer turn on the pump. I’ve had the osmolator for about 6 months working great until now. I’ve tried unplugging multiple times and waiting awhile. Any advice?

The safety sensor is likely submerged, it cannot calibrate until it is out of water and stays in initialization mode until it calibrates.

ok wanted to thank u for the 6105. I have a question about the osmolator3. I have 2 one on a live rock tub and one still in the box for a future build. My question is that I have had to reboot it a few times because it didn't top off and water level was low. Today I noticed it really low again and it was flashing white as in the past. I rebooted it and it still just kept flashing white. I watched it for a few minutes and nothing so I just left it. Checked it again half hr or so later and water level was back to normal. Tub has no algae or anything nuisance growing minus Coraline that's not growing on the sensor housing yet. Is there a good way to trouble shoot it or any recommendations on ur end? Thanks Vic

Flashing white means it is in initialization mode, basically the safety sensor is calibrating, it cannot calibrate if the safety sensor is wet or there is a strong draft across it or a big temp disparity (air is really cold), it essentially needs to record a couple dozen temp readings that are the same and around 90F before it starts working. Can I get a picture of how it is mounted?

I'll get u a pic but it's outside on back porch and it has been cold lately. Water is heated but ambient isn't. Maybe that's the problem?

Yes, this is likely the issue, in the safety sensor is a micro heater and a micro temp sensor, the idea is normally it is heated to 90, water cools it, water level is too high, if the ambient temp is too cold or there is strong air flow, it will do the same.

I'm changing to eco pumps and have 2 that have the old style controller and just purchased another 2 that have hub controller. Can I add hub controller to the eco's I have with old controller, and if so can I get just hub controllers?

Yes, the retrofit version is 7020.150, like on the old controller, the pump connects inside the controller so it won't have the external connection of the new ones but is the same in all other regards.

On the new pumps they use a waterproof external connection, so this was updated.

Hi Roger, One of my osmolator3s was flashing so I rebooted it and same thing. So figured it needed a soak and I find a light or sensor at the top of housing melted.

This would probably be BRS as it is one of the first ones made and they had them a few weeks before anyone else. I will get it out today.

No worries 🙂 Just what happens is in the future should you post in a sales thread, scammers scan your profile for personal information and try contacting you via phone number or email claiming to be the seller on r2r. They then take your money and run. Were doing everything we can to avoid it from happening
