Outer Space Psammocora question

Ok here is mine, definitely doesn't look purple like the pic i found below. My pic is under white lights but even under blue it looks more brown. Any ways i notice what looks like little furry things coming out of it, is this normal? Does everything look to be ok with it? Haven't seen to much growth but it has grown a little.

I dont have a pic of mine as I lost it but mine did look similar to the picture.Did yours always look like that.
