So I just bought a pre-owned 150 (5 x 2 x 2) Planet tank. It has a completely external overflow box. The middle top of the back glass has the weir built in and 4 bulkheads coming out of the bottom of the external box. I’m having the tank resealed and have the option of having the overflow converted back to the standard internal style, but struggling to make that decision. I know the external is basically an upgrade since the entire interior space in the tank is open……BUT……., I’m concerned about the fact that the tank will have to stick out like 5-6 inches from the wall….AND …..the plumbing issue. There would be NO way to get to the plumbing if I needed to without draining and moving the tank out from the wall. Any options I’m not considering or experiences would be great…..even better with pics.

Maybe cut a hole in the wall to get to the back of the tank. :)

Have definitely been thinking of that too. Not sure if my wife would be ok with that though.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
