I know the numbers are out there somewhere. It is a decent amount, I want to say over 2000gph. I'm running a vectra m1 on my return and have 1.5" drains and they are throttle back to slow down the drain.

It looks like about 2100gph for a gravity fed, siphon 1.5" drain and 3300gph for a 2" siphon drain.

It's almost a wash in terms of maximum drain capacity between those two scenarios, so I would choose the one with less holes to drill and drains to plumb.
To get a better answer I'd ask what your goals are? How big is the tank? How many overflows are you installing across these drains? Are you planning for two bean animal setups or two herbies? Or something else entirely?

If you wanted a simple drain setup, with 4x 2" drains you could run two Herbie overflows, where each pair of 2" drains is a primary siphon and a backup emergency drain. That would give you about 6600gph max, which would be 10x your system volume turnover per hour. This would be a simple, safe, and relatively quiet setup.
Alternately, you could do 6x 1.5" holes and do two overflows as bean animal drains - which use 3x 1.5" drains: a full siphon, an open channel, and an emergency drain. These are generally preferred as a quiet, safe, and relatively low maintenance option - but it's a bit more work and plumbing.
I have no experience with closed loops or tanks this large, so perhaps some other [HASHTAG]#reefsquad[/HASHTAG] folks can provide more context on those topics.
