Just an update.... Tank has been 100% eradicated of aiptasia minus 3 small ones that are buried deep in some rocks that nothing can get to. The huge ones, every one in the rocks, sand, filter intakes, all gone.

This Kleins has been the best fish addition we've added yet. I keep it well fed and it never even looks at corals. Hope this trend continues. It's growing nicely, and actually has some gorgeous coloring.

How many did you put in & what size tank? I don’t have Aiptasia, but good to know info…. There are different types of Aiptasia, do they eat all Aiptasia?

Yes but it takes a lot of them for a 160 gallon tank. And it is mostly fish with wrasses that would eat them.

I ended up with pearlscale and raccoon. Don’t know how they will do in the DT but there was lots of aiptasia on some rock I have in my QT and they have absolutely demolished what is in their respective tank.

But my question is, do they eat All Aiptasia or just the main pest Da “Glass Aiptasia” which is the main Aiptasia identified with most reefers ….?

I bring this up because from experience, if you get real gulf live rock you might get two or three wild “anemones/Corallimorphs”…Lightbulb anemones are usually hitchhike pretty regular. I believe they are in the Aiptasia (class or family) but are not really pest. I separated some LR pieces into a few tanks and introduced Berghia’s (not many but small tank) into one tank with LB Anemone’s and other wild anemones and they didn’t touch them. I know they aren’t invasive or considered pest because I’ve had them for 3 years+…..However in my experience the Berghia’s didn’t munch away. So just trying to clarify for me and the community….
