I recently hooked up an ozone reactor with a carbon reactor attached for the output water.

I'm unsure how to adjust flow (water/air/ozone) to get everything right.

At the moment I can smell ozone even at low settings, but unsure if this because of to much air, not enough waterflow or something else.

Pretty straight foward setup where all air/ozone and water just runs through both reactors - which also makes it a bit noisy.

It will vary based on the ozone reactor. A common suggestion is that you run your reactor with the ozone off for a week or two and then slowly increase the ozone.

Thanks for the suggestion.
So a 'break in' periode might help?

I'm wondering if the free ozone I smell could be lack of water/less organic for the ozone to get into contact with.

I'm only pushing 120 liters/hr with roughly the same air/ozone, if these numbers help anything.

I ran both the water and air effluents through GAC to break down residual ozone and other oxidants in the water.

What size tank are we talking abuut?

If what you want is clearer water, that does not tank much ozone or much water flow. I think that primary benefit is attained at quite low doses.

Hi Randy.

Yes, I've read your articles and saw your old setup.
As my setup is a complete closed system both air and water exits using the same tube after the carbon reactor.
Total system is roughly 120 gl.

Is this a Advaned Marine Mutiny reactor?
Start with a setting of 3 on the Posiedon if that's the generator you use.
I did not smell any ozone until I was at 6 on the dial.
The effluent flows through 1 liter of carbon and at 6 you can smell it when you open the cabinet even with passing it through 1 liter of carbon.

I now run it at 3 through a skimmer and get the same water clarity as the Reactor with less ozone. I run it 24/7 and run no carbon.
Orp stay ls between 380-430 for reference.
I do run carbon, 1 cup rox, in my overflow sock but the ozone is in the return chamber and goes straight into the tank.

Thanks for the input.
Even with pretty low dosage I smell the ozone.
It's also pretty noisy.
I just recieved an ozone kit for my skimmer, so will try running it this way instead, and will simply make some diy carbon holder for the lid-just in case.
