Yes, clean them regularly and don't let them get too dirty. That's how you will get a much longer life span from each pack. If too much dirt or dust builds up, it will put more wear on those parts which means more frequent replacing.
Anything specific we should be using to clean the rollers / head? Seems the gamut ranges from IPA to acetone depending on who you talk to.

Q-tip and warm water

For the more stubborn markings, q-tip and rubbing alcohol will do the job.
