Thinking about painting my Acrylic Trigger ATO container. Is there a specific brand any of you recommend or prefer?

I have no experience painting acrylic. But for PVC plumbing, I have tried Rustoleum Painter's Touch, Rustoleum American Accents 2X Ultra Cover, and Krylon Fusion for Plastic.
Painter's Touch worked best, but still chips off somewhat easily.

Other paints or techniques I should consider?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

If you are doing this already, your ahead of the game:
Use some fine grit sandpaper and rough up the surface before you paint it and the paint should stick better. Using a primer might also help.

I agree with @Ron Reefman and sand it a bit before painting. Also the Krylon Fusion is your best bet. Many reefers have used it in the past and its my go to when I need to paint something that may in one way or another have contact with my reefs water.

  • Did you paint your ATO container?
    • If so, how well did the paint bond to the acrylic?
    • Did you use sandpaper or primer?

Actually, I JUST placed an order for this beautiful bad boy....
Plus it's narrower than the one I had, so better for next to/behind the tank (might even be narrow enough to fit in the stand, we'll see)...
