Pair of clowns

I currently have a pair of clowns in QT and they are being dosed copper at the moment. They are both eating like beasts, which is really good to see. My concern is one of the clowns is showing dominance and keeping the other one in the corner. Is this part of the pairing process? I don’t want to stress them out any more they have been...

Mine tend to do that sometimes. As long as they don't bite each other, they will be fine.

The other guy looks like he want to bite the other one! But it doesn’t. Not sure, unfortunately away from the tank most of the day.... they are both same size

It will work itself out. This is exactly what happens as clownfish mature. One will become the dominant one, grow bigger, and become the female, while the other one will become the breeding male. As long as you don’t see physical signs of abuse (torn fins, etc...) you will be fine. It’s expected.

How long does this last? It is very apparent that the one clown keeps the other guy in a corner and he becomes submissive . Also another question, how long to clowns live?

My new pair have been out of qt for 2 months and are still doing that. They were pretty much the same size when I got them and the female is now about twice the size. She will chase him around the tank sometimes and shows dominance at feeding time, she won’t let him eat first. All totally normal. I would just keep an eye out for nipped fins.

Looks like the ocellaris clownfish. I’m sure the 2 will sort it out.

Qt for me was 6 weeks and the female was maybe a 1/4 bigger. Now a month or so later she is double.
