Hi everyone I started my redsea 250 tank with my friends saltwater that has been established for more then 5 years. I lost all my acros and whenever I add a new sps it ends up turning brown. My lps are doing fine. Sent an icp to see what’s going on but isn’t this weird?

Most are going to want to know about your lighting and parameters. Alk,cal,mag, phos,nitrates.

What’s your PO4 and NO3?

Also, any chance your lights are not producing the same output? Old led lens or old bulbs?

I was using Aquaforest phosphate minus (like rows phos) and it was removing phosphates to quick so I stopped using it and switched to GFO. I think that might have been one of the issues nitrates 24 phosphate 0.15

Also, any chance your lights are not producing the same output? Old led lens or old bulbs?

I have 2 radions and one brand new blade so I don’t think there a problem with the light

Those are high levels for acros and many other sps. I’d still look into the other issues raised above but sps will color up best in much lower nutrient levels (nitrates below 5ppm, or even below 1ppm; phosphates below 0.1 with somewhere around 0.02 or so even better).

Also make sure alkalinity, calcium, magnesium and salinity are very stable. They need to be in NSW ranges but stability is more important than a particular level as long as they’re in range or natural conditions.

I should also say move slowly on dropping your nutrient levels.

Seems legit, maybe a little high for fussy SPS
