PAR cheat sheet?

Now I know there is a lot of information out there in the world where several million points of data have been collected either by hobbyist, retailers, or manufactures! So why no cheat sheet when it comes to PAR levels? For instance I have a 220 with 3 AI hydra 26's and 2 Gen2 Radions. I don't yet have a PAR meter and unfortunately my tank has no corals in it. Now I don't want a replacement for a PAR meter ( and I'm torn as to which product I want; Seneye or Apogee, or even the PMK for my Apex! But no database for lights and tank combos? It would be a daunting task for an individual to put a database together for such a thing but maybe would be worth it! Tank LWD plus lighting fixtures and how far the light is suspended above the water! Would make for a nice thing when deciding on buying lights for a tank..... I know it would be approximate but a great starter tool until a person gets a PAR meter. Now I do know that theres more to corals than just light but being that its one of the more expensive purchases so it would be nice! Maybe BRS would bring this to LIGHT!

In terms of tools...if there's any question in your mind, then a $12 lux meter is where to start.

You can decide from there which optional upgrade would be best suited to replace it, if any. Rough conversions for lux and PAR are possible if that's helpful – not sure what you're using the numbers for. :) You can even calibrate your lux meter and lights for PAR if you can borrow a PAR meter to do some comparison measurements.

I realize the purchase of a PAR meter isn't for everyone. Is there a local club that can purchase one and share it? Just a few measurements from an aquarium lighted by one of the aforementioned luminaires (along with a mention of height and power settings) would give a general idea of light production. That's what these forums are all about, right? BRS seems to have done a good job with examination of at least one fixture.

I got the biotek3000 par meter from aquarium specialty. It was a little cheaper at $200 but is basically an apogee without the hand held. You just plug into your laptop. I rarely Use It so its hard to justify much more than that.

You can not have a cheat sheet as every tank mount and how deep the water and water movement effects your readings. It is not a cut and dry thing.
One of the many reasons to join a club is to have access to a Par meter. I come out and help hobbyist in my town set theirs up.

Ed I need to Facetime with you and have you take a look at my PAR numbers and light setting! :)
