How much is to much par for lps? Hammers, torches, Duncan, candy cane, etcetera. I’m between 150-200

Are your LPS already under this light or are you setting up and plan to add soon?

If you’re setting up and buying from an LFS ask them to show you the PAR in their LPS tanks and initially match that. Then if you’re going to ramp it up ramp up slowly after you stock your tank. If buying online suggest starting lower (70-100 ish and then working up)

Some places keep their corals in much lower PAR than you see in home tanks, because their goal is survival rather than growth, and lower PAR stresses corals less and when they are stressed it does it much more slowly than too high PAR, so they’ll see less stock loss.

Anyway - what you want to avoid is taking a coral that’s been sitting in 70-100 par for a while and putting it under 200 par lights in your tank on day 1, when it’s also adjusting to all new water chemistry and biome.

Set it and forget it: Do you change your aquascape as your corals grow?
