Parasitic worm in my clam?

Sorry for the bad pic, but what is the white thing sticking out of the clam? I've only seen it twice. It sticks out maybe 3/4in at most and moves around a bit. It looks like a worm to me. I've had the clam for 2 months. It looks happy, but doesn't seem to settle to one spot. Thanks

I'll keep an eye out for it and try to snap a better pic. It's solid white, just sticks out and slowly moves around. The clam seems completely unbothered.
 
Nope not a parasitic worm, part of the clams normal anatomy, foot.
